Yoga.
Yoga Sutra (→official site)という所。
501 5th Avenue, 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10017
Tel: 212.490.1443
>boohttp://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3389241/2006-01-17T13:19:23+09:002006-01-17T13:50:09+09:002006-01-17T13:19:23+09:00sweetmaniaNew York Mania
---------------
It's been 10 days since I got back to NYC.
Well, can't believe that it's been only 10 days...I feel like 3 months or so passed. The time I was in Japan was so far away. Why do I feel so?
Am I feeling homesick?
That sucks... it makes me not sure if it was a great idea to take the NY job, not Hawaii's nor Tokyo's...
Hope it's gonna go away soon.
PART 2
---------------
Wow...I just realized that today is the one-year anniversary for my SWEETMANIA Blog. I was in Boston with mixed feelings when I started this on January 17 2005(→See the first one?)
I am proud of myself if I may say. (I was a girl couldn't write a dairy more than three days ;P)
Just amazing how the past year went through, so many things & so many thoughts have occurred. On this very day of one-year anniversary, I am still not sure if I made a right choice for myself. I hope I did...
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!]]>Still ON...http://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3263612/2005-12-21T10:18:00+09:002005-12-23T06:07:54+09:002005-12-22T07:36:45+09:00sweetmaniaNew York Mania
>Strike is ON!!http://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3259601/2005-12-20T22:27:00+09:002005-12-22T07:17:54+09:002005-12-21T13:42:42+09:00sweetmaniaNew York Mania
The site was shut down (it's personally disaster though) and the strike is going on right now!!! (it's at least 7 million people's disaster...)
It started at 3:00AM Tuesday morning.
No trains and buses in NYC!
It seems more people on the street, maybe that's because they can't be under the ground for Subway...or they walked to the office?!
How did I get to the office?
I was lucky enough to get a car service to Manhattan. I and two other co-workers(neighbors) came in together around 10:00, not bad at all.
Phew! There were only a few people made it to the office...
I feel so sorry for tourists who wanted to enjoy their Christmas in Manhattan...no access to go around.
The last time MTA(Metropolitan Transit Authority) were on strike was in 1980 -- 25 YEARS AGO!!! and lasted 11 days.
More surprisingly the workers earn between $47,000 and $55,000 a year!
That is about ¥5,400,000 to ¥6,300,000($1=¥115)
It's not bad, huh?
Just WOW...and wonder how long this time is gonna be...
早く終わってくれ~]]>NO strike for today...http://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3239470/2005-12-16T22:36:00+09:002005-12-17T13:52:45+09:002005-12-17T13:52:45+09:00sweetmaniaNew York Mania
Trains and buses are running”っていうテロップがTVに流れてた。
"Hey, how are you?"
I came up to scold you!" って。。。
"I know you always come home late. You are workaholic!!! People usually come out of office at 5 or 6 o'clock. You should come home early!"
I say...but...the site is now back to normal...
She continues..."oh yeah? but NO EXCUSE!"
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
FINALLY finally the site is back.
It was a quite great moment to see its homepage on the Internet, instead of the page saying “the page can not be displayed…”, especially after a week of site shut-down.
One of my team mate flew to Japan, and THE TEAM japan&nyc worked on getting the site back together. It started in the afternoon in Japan, so we had another work-through-the-night.
After all, the site was back to normal. YEAH!!
We haven’t gotten the exact reason and direct cause why it happened, but it was unbelievable rare and almost never-happen situation…oh well.
However, it does’t mean that we don’t need to care about it much. There is a possibility it might happen again. Even though it is very very rare, it should be highly alerted and it needs to be carefully planed for back-ups.
We will ;)
A little peaceful time came back to the office.
The Christmas time is around the corner!
Must run for Christmas shopping♪]]>Museum in NYC =The Cloisters=http://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3220027/2005-12-11T23:04:00+09:002005-12-13T13:25:47+09:002005-12-13T13:25:13+09:00sweetmaniaNew York Mania

;(]]>Long time no see!http://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3214816/2005-12-11T22:26:00+09:002005-12-12T14:35:07+09:002005-12-12T14:20:58+09:00sweetmaniaLovely Friends
I saw a friend from Ecuador that I have met in Boston more than 6 years ago. We went to the same language school and took the same classes -- the classes I have met a lot of wonderful friends from all over the world.
Because of the great "EMAIL system", I still keep in touch with them.
He ,VIER (well...it's kinda difficult to make up Western names with my rule...) is one of them.
It was really great to see him again. It's been a long while since I last met him...I don't even remember when it was...all I remember is that was a surprise gathering for Moko in NYC several years ago.
VIER was in NY at that time, and our another common friend, AKA was in Connecticut...and I was coming to NYC from Boston to see Moko (was coming from Japan for vacation).
Well...I just wanted to surprise her, so I asked VIER and AKA to walk into a bar where Moko and I were supposed to be, of course without telling her at all!
Guess what happened! I got her so bad.
She thought they came in the bar "coincidentally" -- no way! it would be million parts of possibility! I just couldn't help laughing...
I was so glad that they did a favor for me and came to see Moko.
It was a great fun reunion...
So nostalgic!
Am I too emotional? Is that because I am coming back to Japan pretty soon???
Oh, well...but I really feel lucky that I have a lot of great friends, of course in Japan and also in the world. Wonderful moments with them are simply precious memories.
I definitely believe that the encounters with my lovely friends are on my notebook.
Yeah, you are :)]]>あにぃぃぃぃhttp://sweetmania.exblog.jp/3213549/2005-12-11T15:27:00+09:002005-12-12T06:03:41+09:002005-12-12T05:48:00+09:00sweetmaniaNew York Mania
